Homemade Green Tea Conditioner

In the previous blog post, we discussed how we could achieve natural hair highlights by use of chamomile tea. But we're not done with the hair benefits of tea yet. In this article, we'll talk about getting shiny, smooth hair by making your very own conditioner from loose leaf green tea.

Green tea conditioner can give your locks extra shine. It can also give your hair a soft and smooth feel. Follow these simple steps and you're well on your way to a healthy, shiny hair that visibly improves with regular use.

  1. Boil 2 cups of water.
  2. Add 2 tablespoonful of loose leaf green tea and let it steep.
  3. Strain off the leaves and let the brew cool.

Apply green tea on a damp hair, preferably after shampooing. Let the conditioners sit for around 3 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

Green tea works well as a conditioner because it is rich in nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Provitamins and Panthenol. Vitamin E works as a restorative agent from dryness while Vitamin C helps protect hair from UV and sun damage. Panthenol and provitamins keep hair soft and strong. With all these nutrients, it's no wonder why aside from bringing luster, green tea conditioner also helps strengthen hair strands and promote hair growth.
