How is it that you enjoy your night time tea? Do you enjoy a cup of herbal in the quiet after the kids go to bed? Do you sip a cup during the nightly news? I take mine out to the front porch and sip my tea while I drink in the night. Listening to the night sounds of suburbia, Killdeers winging through the dark... Sometimes watching a bat fly in and out of the streetlight catchng insects.
Other times I sit quietly with prayer beads in hand and ask the Universe to help plot my course to contentment, pray for the end of suffering and war... or pray for things closer to home and my heart... or I simply give thanks for the blessings I have.
These are prayer beads I made for a friend fighting breat cancer.
Do you have a night time ritual invovling tea?

The aroma of this tea, when I first opened the pouch, was heavenly! I love vanilla and you can tell it's in there with the lemon grass and lemon preserves.

While waiting for the kettle to boil I admired the lovely color, set off by the lemon grass pieces.
Once steeped, the flavors came to life with the rich red color... I love vanilla and the vanilla beans came through, as did the lemon preserves, to produce a lovely lemon creme flavor.
Rooibos tea has many health benefits.. It's full of antioxidants and is naturally caffeine free. It tastes great iced too! This tea is so good and when Stevia is added, it satisfies my cravings for something sweet. It would make a wonderful dessert tea!
So, the next time I get a hankering for lemon creme cookie sandwiches... I'll just brew a pot of Lemon Meringue Pie Tea instead!
Have you gone to a tea room lately? Of the many that I've been to or researched, they are all either English or Asian style. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that... but is this how you enjoy your tea? Do you always have your tea in a china cup and saucer... or from an Asian pot in a tea bowl? Or... do you have a favorite mug? I have many pots and many cups, mostly without saucers and many mugs (I use a mug in the mornings)... I tend to marry pots I like with cups and creamer/sugar sets that don't match the pot perfectly, to make my own tea sets.
My favorite, or at least the one I use every night, is a green Alladin pot with gold trim that I've put together with my favorite orphaned cup (a vintage hand painted Nippon), a brass compote (for my Stevia) and a beaded stainless steel mesh tea ball.

I have a dream of opening my own tea room... but it will be different! It will have more of a bohemian flare! I'll have many different tea sets that I've put together from teawares I've found in thrift stores and antique shops... and even from my own hutch!

This one I call my "Worldly Set" as it seems to come from many different cultures... Asian basket, Middle Eastern charm on the teaball, decidely American cups and Depression Glass creamer and sugar and a huge pot that echos of Europe!

This one I call my "Hippie Set" as joining the vintage 1970s raised fruit avocado green teapot with vintage avocado green cups just screams 70s! The basket and the amber Cubist pattern Depression Glass creamer and sugar match the pot very well... and the teaball is beaded with green and amber glass hippie flowers!

Here's a cute set that I recently sold... It consists of a really cool, small, black Mid-century Modern pot with a small Depression Glass creamer and sugar. Its teaball is adorned with a pewter bead with a moon on one side and a sun on the other and an irridescent crystal.
I love putting tea sets together and if I ever get to have my tea room... I'll have the coolest one of a kind tea sets around! You all be sure to keep your eye out for it and come in for a cuppa... A girl can dream can't she?

I love tea... all kinds of tea... but when it comes down to it... black tea is my favorite.
California Tea House's Golden Monkey Paw black tea is a gorgeous whole leaf tea...

Look at these lovely leaves! Being whole leaf, this tea is full of all those wonderful antioxidents and good things that black tea is known for.

Look at this amazing color when it's steeped. Its taste is just as golden. Golden Monkey Paw is a full bodied tea with a smooth flavor that is robust enough to hold up to milk and sweetener.
It's the perfect morning tea for me! It bet it will be for you as well!
Yes I'm one of those people... one of those who can't turn off their minds to get to sleep... one of those chronic insomniacs that take hours to fall asleep regardless of how tired or sleepy I am... and to top that off... I have Restless Leg Syndrome... not to mention the stress of today's economy...

So... every night before I attempt to get to sleep I sit out on my front porch and have a pot... yes a pot!... of some kind of "sleep" tea or sleepy time tea. For two nights now, I've been drinking California Tea House's Bedtime Chai II. Although, the jury is still out on whether it will help with the RLS, I've slept better the past two nights than I have in quite a long time...

It works well for me and the taste is wonderful! It is not wildly spicey like many chais. You can taste the Chamomile and Vanilla Bean and each individual spice, but the sweetness of the African Honeybush shines through! I highly recommend this tea if you have trouble sleeping... or even if you don't... It tastes that good!
